April 5th 2010- Kenya’s Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said that notorious Genocide suspect is not in Kenya because the security organs have searched for him in
vain. His comments about Kabuga however come even when the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda is insisting that the suspect is hiding in Kenya. Odinga was speaking on the first day of his
Rwandan visit where he visited the Genocide memorial site in Gisozi. The Kenyan Prime Minister told Radio Rwanda that there is no reason why anyone suspected of genocide would not be arrested and
extradited to Rwanda.
Raila Odinga’ visit to Rwanda is in a bid to join Rwandans in the 16th commemoration of the genocide against the Tutsi that happened in Rwanda in 1994. On the first day of his visit the Kenyan
Prime Minister visited the genocide memorial site where over 200 thousand genocide victims are buried.
Soon after his tour of the memorial centre, Kenya’s Prime Minister Raila Odinga said that what happened in Rwanda must stand condemned adding that this is a lesson for all African countries if
they want to move and take their place among the countries of the world.Concerning the post election violence that rocked Kenya largely caused by ethnic divisionism, Odinga said that that the
chaos was caused by poor leadership at the time adding that African leaders should rise above ethnicity and tribalism if they want to unite their people.
